It will get done!!!!

I have a to do list a mile long right now and can't seem to get to it. It's summer vacation and all but there are some things that still need my attention. I am almost to the point where I can load things up into the car and take the kids to the park so they can play while I finish my phone calls, update my resume, etc.

No AC

One minor mishap on our way to SC was the AC went out in the van. Now we were pretty full with 6 kids plus myself and the dog so it got warm in there fast. We made it to Sharron's house though and my brother looked at it when he arrived and discovered there was a cap missing allowing the freon to leak out. That was a pretty easy fix with just a trip to Walmart for the freon cans and one to a parts store for a cap. Now we have nice cool air! Isn't God good?
(I copied this from someone else)

Everyone concentrates on the problems we are having in this country lately: illegal immigration, hurricane recovery, alligators attacking people in Florida .

Not me, I concentrate on solutions for the problems. It is a win-win situation.

+ Dig a moat the length of the Mexican border.
+ Send the dirt to New Orleans to raise the level of the levies.
+ Put the Florida alligators in the moat along the Mexican border.

Are there any other problems you would like me to solve today? Yes!
Please read on....LOL

1. Cows
2. The Constitution
3. The Ten Commandments

Cows
Is it just me, or does anyone else find it amazing that during the mad cow epidemic our government could track a single cow, born in Canada almost three years ago, right to the stall where she slept in the state of Washington?
And, they tracked her calves to their stalls. But they are unable to locate 11 million illegal aliens wandering around our country. Maybe we should give each of them a cow.

The Constitution
They keep talking about drafting a Constitution for Iraq .... Why don't we just give them ours? It was written by a lot of really smart guys, it has worked for over 200 years, and we're not using it anymore.

The 10 Commandments
The real reason that we cannot have the Ten Commandments posted in a courthouse is this: You cannot post 'Thou Shalt Not Steal,' 'Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery,' and 'Thou Shall Not Lie' in a building full of lawyers, judges and politicians...It creates a hostile work environment.

Our Stay in SC

This is where we stayed in SC. Sharron and Tim just moved here and have not even had time to totally unpack yet. They still drive for FedEx over the road so they are not home much yet. They hope to be off the road early next year and this is where they will come home to.

This is the room I stayed in.

Sharron loves Raggedy Ann and Andy and has a room full of them. This is where Katlyn stayed.

This is one of the bathrooms. They plan on replacing the carpet in the house eventually. I do not like carpet in a bathroom.

This tent was set up for Phillip and Nathan to stay in. Uncle Tim even provided flashlights for them in case they needed to have a little light.

I don't have a picture of where Austin stayed. He stayed in the fellowship building where they had couches and DVD player and a fridge which we put drinks in for him and Kevin. They had their own little pad out there.

South Carolina Trip

This is Phillip, Nathan, Noelle, and Randy at the park. It was over 100 degrees that day so we didn't stay at the park very long.
Nathan loved Aunt Sharron's bathtub and thought it was the perfect place to go fishing.
Going fishing in Aunt Sharron's bathroom.
Nathan and I rode the bumper boats. He usually loves this but this time he was getting pretty wet and didn't like being sprayed in the face by his cousins.
Taking a break at the park.
Since my sister and her husband recently moved to SC I wanted to take a trip down with the kids this summer to check it out. Katlyn and Austin wanted to bring two of their cousins along and also Austin's blue tick hound that he just got so the 7 of us plus the dog all loaded in my mini van and headed south. We had a pretty good trip.

My camera would not work at all so the only pictures I have are ones my sister took. There are many things about living in the south that I had forgotten about from when I used to live in NC. The friendliness is just unbelievable. I saw more smiles on people and happy faces in the week I was there than I would see here in PA in a month. Everyone would talk to you whether they knew you or not. I have church family here that will look the other way rather than say hi to me in a store. They are either too busy or just plain old rude. That southern talk is just so sweet and kind. They can say something derrogetory and sound so sweet about it. Bless their hearts!
